Testimonials
- School
of Santhi YogaTeacher Training School in India:
Leslie Anne Franklin:
One day I decided to change my life and do something for myself after rearing 4 children that had grown up and moved on with their own lives. So I packed up my house and flew to India to join the School of Santhi.
When I sat in front of Swami Santhiprasad I felt as though all the questions I had ever needed to know about life had been answered. Not only was I given a professional Yoga Teacher Training but I was able to unlock deep spiritual gifts inside of me that I never knew existed. The course taught me how to live in an authentic manner and see through the many veils of illusion that were inhibiting my spiritual growth.
The day the course ended in India, I flew back to Australia and started immediately to teach. The course gave me confidence and a professional manner of teaching. I was able to impart to all of my students the 'Spirit of Santhi'. The training made it possible for me to hold successful workshops on Yoga, Meditation and the Kundalini chakra system in Australia and Bali, Indonesia.
I thoroughly recommend the course to any aspiring yoga teachers.
I am delighted and most grateful to have completed my teacher training with the School of Santhi.
The organization behind the teaching was splendid, and the delivery was superb. Absolutely everyone involved in the process from the master, visiting teachers, cooks, cleaners, to the supporting and administrative staff delivered their service with passion, enthusiasm, love and pure commitment.
This was sustained consistently throughout the month. It is best summed up by a fellow student when asked by a stranger about her experience of the course:
"Absolutely amazing."
I had heard from a previous student that Master Santhi is a great teacher - yet I was absolutely astounded to have experienced it first hand: his teachings show a great depth in insight, knowledge, experience and sensitivity which in totality is, quite simply, mind-blowing. He is the best story teller I have ever come across: we all enjoyed Santhi's truly inspirational lectures, often underpinned by personal accounts, shared with much humility, grace and humor.
Both Santhi and our Sanskrit lecturer often had us in fits of laughter - it didn't matter that we didn't master Sanskrit; what mattered was that we had mastered laughing (albeit with some belly ache afterwards).
Asana practice with Santhi and Kannan took me to much greater levels of improvement in my personal practice, which continues to deepen weeks after the course completed. Kannan is a mischievous delight to learn from, helping us to overcome limitations in our bodies and stretch beyond our limits when we felt ready - my instinctive reaction was to laugh rather than cry when challenged on those occasions! Both taught with great sensitivity and care.
Mantra chanting and the occasional performances of devotional songs were a great treat to broaden our experience.
Finally and by no means least, Suryesh was a great lecturer to round off our experience: it was important and inspirational to see how, after years of following Santhi's teachings, he is now disseminating them in the spirit and continuance of the tradition.
Long may that continue; far and wide may they spread!
I had a wonderful time in Kallar Valley attending the TTC and I met wonderful fellow yogis! Im very happy I chose School of Santhi to learn yoga, it went over my expectations.
Thanks for having chosen me as well as part of the students. I think the quality of the lectures was very high, specially when it was conducted by Swami and by Suresh. Kannan was great yoga teacher too, I think we all enjoyed his knowledge about the human body and how it can be stretched and pushed to its limits without being hurt.
I discovered a new passion, chanting mantras! I never knew I would like it but as I felt the positive effect it had on me, I totally adopted it!
I also enjoyed the Kundalini meditation, a true revelation for me! I learnt patience and discipline, even if I still have to work on it! And I seriously needed it. I also realized that life was much easier than my mind thinks it is!
I always had good interaction with everyone, and I made a great new friend, my roommate! I couldn't thank you enough to have chosen to put us in the same room! There couldn't have been a better choice! The food was very nice too, and I discovered new dishes I will make at home!
I think the training was intense and required attention and energy but it was very interesting, deep and never "uninteresting". I will definitely recommend your school to anyone who is interested in a TTC and I hope I will be able to come next year to the next level!
Thanks a lot to all the teachers and the people who contributed to our health, accommodation, food and learning process!
I enjoyed my month in Kellar terribly. The training far exceeded my expectations and even being home, I am frequently reminded of all I learned and experienced during my time at the School of Santhi.
Prior to coming to the program, I had hoped to increase my knowledge related to yoga as well as an opportunity refine and improve my asanas. All that was accomplished but I also left with a very personal shift in perspective. The training has changed me in very meaningful ways and I believe it has put me on a path to continue my spiritual journey. I am amazed that all this could have taken place in such a short amount of time.
I would like take a minute to thank Swami Santhi, Kannan, Kumar and all the support staff who made the training and the time in Kellar so wonderful.
Swami's method of presenting information was so engaging and came from a place of truth and it made it easy to be in long lectures every day. I was always exited for his discussions because I knew that the information he was giving us was such a special and unique gift and his delivery was so effortless and personal that it never felt like a class or a chore.
Kannan's asana classes were wonderful and now that I am back in my regular practice, I am able to notice the vast improvement in my practice. His fearlessness in challenging students could only be successfully accomplished because of his knowledge of how the body works and where the limit is for each individual.
Having Kumar on site daily was also such a gift. I always felt taken care of and was so appreciative to have someone to go to if anything was needed. His energy and bright spirit was felt throughout the house every day.
My month at School of Santhi was an experience I will never forget. I hope to have the opportunity to take further trainings in the coming years and am so exited to see where this continued study leads me.
My experience at the School of Santhi once again reassured me of how you attract exactly the experiences in your life that you need at the perfect moment. I was open to bringing a deeply inspiring adventure into my life and a deeply inspiring adventure is exactly what I received. The location was perfect. Natural. Beautiful. In the mountains and forests. By a healing river. Trees. Birds. Close to the elements. What more could I ask for?
The teachings were perfect; clear and well structured; ‘enlightening’ should I say. All the Santhi staff and helpers were open, transparent and friendly. The food was healthy and well balanced. The school was professional with everyone always greeting you with a smile. The yoga asana practice pushed me to my limits and I really feel the difference!
You are treated as a unique individual with the School of Santhi. It really felt like you were a part of a small family, and everyone was welcomed with fresh, open arms.
If you are looking to be challenged on all levels then the School of Santhi is a great place to continue your own serious (but not too serious!) personalized journey to oneness. The course gave me the traditional interpretation of the true nature of Yoga and showed me how truly deep it’s roots go, and how it relates to all aspects of life!
It was truly a great introductory course that is packed to the brim with information and opportunities for growth, self healing, self realization and self-discovery. It was just what I was looking for (but then of course it was, for if you look in life for something, then it will simply find you eventually when the moment is right!)
To have the chance to live and study so close to a master like Santhi (even though he would never claim to be a master) was also a real privilege. He will remain always an inspiration to me and I know will be an important guide and reference point for the rest of my life (either physically or non physically it doesn’t matter!).
Santhi passes over his wisdom in a very down to earth, personal and unique way, so that you can truly understand and relate to his words with your own life experiences, through the honest revealing of Santhi’s own life experiences and HIS own human journey! He was always open to questions and easily approachable. In fact the only way to get him to go deeper is to ask him questions, as that’s the way he works, and so this is what he encourages! He also really makes you feel how capable we ALL are of finding ourselves in a similar state of mind in this life time. As we already all have that potential within us!
I am a changed man! I am not the same person as when I came, as I knew I wouldn’t be, and this experience is for sure (just like I know all my fellow yogis would agree with me as well), a landmark experience in my own journey. One that has given me the enhanced confidence to have total trust and faith in the universe, and the chance to get one more step closer to KNOWING our true nature and potential in this life, for myself!
I learnt just so much, more than I thought I would! As the rabbit hole always goes deeper and deeper, the only question really is, is how deep do you want to go? And what was particularly interesting was to see how everything connects together at the end of the course. Reflecting on a micro scale the true essence of the universe, reality and every aspect of our lives in every way.
It was an experience that I know will never cease to echo in my life, as I move on to integrate the lessons learnt and wisdom gained into my own life journey.
As I soon realized after starting the course how the ultimate teachings of the TTC level I are really what is continued on after the course and during the rest of your life, from that moment onwards... into infinity. As that is where the real course begins and never finishes!
Once you enroll at the School of Santhi the teachings and connection with Santhi that are passed on to you will forever keep unfolding in your life; just like everything else in life they will always be a part of you and continue to blossom.
I look forward to sharing the wisdom and knowledge I gained here in India with others in the future and doing the second level too when the moment is right! As I will be back to India that’s for sure.
Thanks to all at the School of Santhi that made this journey possible and who gave me this rewarding and life-changing precious gift. I will always keep a piece of you all close to my heart. I appreciate all of your love, energy and kindness during the month we recently spent together.
Until we meet again ... Om Santhi Santhi Santhi.
I’ll see you all on the other side!
Words can not begin to express the gratitude that I felt towards the two of you. I began my spiritual journey 8 years ago and it has led me to School of Santhi!
Little did I know that the knowledge, wisdom and kindness that you have been gracious enough to share with me this past month, is what I have been truly searching for.
I will leave here knowing two things: One, that I now have the tools I need to create my own happiness and live my life the way I have always desired to. And two, that there is nothing I can do to ever repay you.
You are two shining spirits who have profoundly impacted my life. I wish you both endless love, light and happiness
I have been lucky enough to meet Swami Santhiprasad and to follow him close up since 1994.
He was the first Indian I met ... small and with a great beard, sitting with his legs crossed, he could easily be mistaken for a boy: yet, he was a vision of harmony with his slow but very natural gestures. His way of being soon struck me … the people around him called him Master and put a lot of questions … he waited for the answers … but I was hit by the Man within Him.
Our Christian religion speaks about Jesus dead on the cross to save us… Swami. Santhiprasad has always spoken as a Master, but he showed me that we don’t need to be crucified to get to the supreme understanding.
I spent many months with him for six years. We organized trips to India or his staying in Italy and in Sweden. He made me understand who a Master is and that a disciple must always trust his Master … that is why Swami Santhiprasad says: “ Listen to your heart - your inner Master - and trust what it says”.
During all these years many people have met Him, he spoke and he listened to them with an open heart like all the great Masters. Swami Santhiprasad is a source from which love, acceptance, peace and quietness always flow, as well as the eternal knowledge.
Thanks to him I had the honor and the luck of meeting several Masters, among them His last ones: most of them have a family, what has positively struck me further and encouraged me to go on the path of my spiritual research.
Now I also have my own family, life wanted me to follow other ways, so I’m learning how to live the relations with the Master at an ethereal and energetic level and this means to trust the life.
At last the School is now taking off with the right reputation and I feel very happy … but honestly I must also say that my ego is struggling with me as it would like to be there with the Master to enjoy this moment. But I kindly remind him that I’m also there with my spirit … Swami Santhiprasad knows it.
Bhaskara Pillai Swamikal
The last Master of Swami Santhiprasad. I remember him like a great mountain, imposing, immobile in his quietness and bliss.
The one who taught the respect towards everybody and everything, even when he was taking a simple glass he was respecting it as an important thing.
I was there when he left his body. The night before we spoke to him about plans among other things and the morning after he passed away serene.
During the funeral his energy was perceptible, his presence was so strong as to console us on his death. It was an unrepeatable experience. My flight back to Italy was booked for the day after. It was a grace and a gift to be present.
When Santhi guides you into Meditation
or speaks about the Science of Yoga; Siva Raja
Yoga, Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga,
Raja Yoga, Swara Yoga, Kundalini Yoga,
Tantra Yoga, Prana or reveal the deeper and
truer aspects of the Chakra natures, when he
explains the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali or gives
you practical guidance in proper breathing, pranayama or asanas, it is guided,
in every moment of the instruction, from the love and devotion of a true Spiritual
Master.
"Love is the source and is in every
one of us".
Santhi addresses to the spirit of the heart,
not only to the mind.
What a wonderful course! I can't begin to tell you how much I have gained. Before, I had all these bits of information from various sources that were just 'floating' around my head. Now, however, everything makes that much more sense. Besides that, I have met and made friends with the most wonderfully like-minded people.
Being in Santhi's presence is inspirational. It seemed that something inside of me was 'unlocked'. Santhi exudes a certain peace and love which is truly Universal. My time spent on the course and in India has certainly paved the way for my future. Yoga is the way forward for me and I feel very blessed indeed that I will be able to share this with others.
Our Master Santhiprasad! A lot of fun with Santhi when we met last time, as it often happens. He told us the story of the poor desperate Hebrew alone in the desert, who invokes his Lord, asking him to relieve his suffering:
“My Lord, listen to my misery, please help your desperate son. Great it’s my misfortune: My son became a Christian!! Oh My Lord, please help me, tell me something“. The poor man keeps invoking, but no answer. All of a sudden, a voice from the Heaven: “My dear son, I know, the same has happened to me, too”.
This is one of the features of Santhi which makes you fell him very close, his spontaneity and his open mind. And when we speak about our personal problems his answers always come from his life experience and from his love towards all beings, flowing to everyone. “Be yourselves and keep observing. Look inside”. “The moral laws are a creation of the society. The only true sin is the one against your consciousness. The only sin is conflict”.
During the meditation he invites you to feel the same innocence as when we were newborn babies and we knew only love and innocence and to find within ourselves this innocence and this love. With a great love he explains with a smile that in the spirituality there is nothing mysterious or complicate.
And when he guides the meditation or when he reveals the deepest aspects of chakras – far beyond what is found on the books – or when he explains Patanjali in a light very different from the indoctrinate teachings, when he accompanies in the practices of Pranayama, every moment of his teaching is guided by love and by his gratitude and devotion toward his Masters.
Santhi addresses to our soul, not to our mind. Yet our mind – often greedy for notions – is fascinated by his original way of explaining Yoga or Tantra, not found in any commentary.
But the theory is of no use and becomes only a kind of attachment if it doesn’t come to real life. The knowledge leads us along the way to the source, to love.
We all are unique and everyone in her/his research can follow her/his own nature. Whether action or meditation, asanas or relaxation, study
or devotion, the important is to be in harmony and in peace within ourselves, because the practice is not an end in itself, it’s an help and a tool to transform and evolve toward knowledge and happiness, toward liberation, which is Union.
Words are limited, yet I tried to share the love and the nourishment which I received from Santhi.
Before I attended the School of Santhi TTC course in India I thought I understood Yoga. I could perform many difficult asanas and various breathing techniques and this is what I knew as Yoga. I often dealt with ups and downs physically and emotionally. I visited the chiropractor, acupuncturist and physical therapist on a regular basis. I struggled with posture because of pain in my neck and thoracic cavity from a car accident.
Now I know that Yoga is everything. Now I eat, sleep, breath, and share yoga with a higher understanding. I now have the ability to cure and heal my own challenges, and facilitate the healing and deeper relaxation of others.
I have been living pain free since and have not visited any therapists. I can adjust my own spine through asana and pranayama exercises. I owe a great amount of thanks to Santhi and all the great masters previous and Patanjali, Sudha, and Kanaka for facilitating this transformation. Now it is my job to share this gift with others the best way I know how through love and movement.
I can thoroughly recommend
Santhi. He is the most incredible man I have met in my life.
Not only will you learn at a very high standard to teach Yoga but
you will also be in the presence of a Spiritual Master.
He is a humble man but extremely knowledgable. The course was more of a personal study of one's Self. I moved through a lot of blocks that I had being around Santhi. Some days I cried, some days I laughed but there also was much silence and stillness.
Santhi really comes from the heart. He is a beautiful Soul ... and very smart.
I love him dearly and can genuinely call him my friend after spending the month there.
He has a refined taste.
You will stay in clean and beautiful accommodation but nothing too lavish. He will look after you in all ways.
Please trust me. This is the best thing you will ever do in your life. I also had been to India many times but this training is special. You will never forget it.
I started to give classes the first week I arrived
back to Australia! I had so much confidence. I am gaining clientele
here and feel Santhi around me in Spirit when
I give classes.
Much love and namaste!

I have always been
interested in yoga and have practiced yoga since I was 16 years old and I have
always dreamed of going to India to study yoga to become a teacher.
One day I was looking online and found the School of Santhi. The
site somehow attracted my attention and I made an enquiry. I was
impressed with the immediate response from the school. I had to
look at timing for the course and my finances. However, life went
on as usual, and I became caught up in my own world and put India
out of my head.
One day when I once again was feeling down and out, I received an
email from Santhi, the Master Yoga Teacher at School of
Santhi. He in short asked me if I was coming to India to do the
course. Something about the timing of the email and the way I was
feeling made me ask myself if I could do it or not.
The course was starting in two weeks and I had a lot to prepare to go but a voice
inside me was saying 'yes, you can go, just do it' So I raced around like a mad idiot
for two weeks and was on the plane to India
two weeks later.
In that time, I had clear communication with Santhi
and he provided me with all the information I needed to know. His
calm and intelligent voice reassured me that I was doing the right
thing.
When I arrived in Trivandrum India, two of Santhi’s staff greeted
me at the airport. I immediately understood that I was in safe company.
They had organized lodging for me up until when the
course started. The accommodation they choose was clean and affordable.
They escorted me to the hotel.
One hour after arrival I received
a phone call from Santhi welcoming me. He advised me that we would
be meeting the night before the course for an introductory session.
I arrived at School of Santhi. Here we were introduced to Santhi's Swedish
wife, Ingrid Bergstrand and some of Santhi's students. We were a
small group. One American, one Scottish and one Dutch girl and
myself, an Australian, four students in total.
Santhi opened the group with a meditation and then continued to tell
us about the course, the daily schedule etc.
There was no problem
with paying Santhi. Everything was clean and honest and above board.
Santhi is to be totally trusted on that level.
Santhi told us we had to meet next morning at 6 am. The next day when we arrived
Santhi was there waiting for us.
We opened each day with a meditation for one hour. Santhi's presence made us
feel very calm. He guided us directly into deep meditation and silence. Already
on the first day, there was a sense of unity between us, the students and Santhi.
After meditation, we started asana's. Watching Santhi do asana's was impressive.
We were in the presence of a Yoga Master, there was no doubt. I felt a wave of
relief and grace and thanks simultaneously because I had chosen to do this course
or it had chosen me, whichever way I was smiling!
I thought the asana's were easy and basic (having done many classes) but I knew
that this was the first day and I told myself to take it easy. We stopped to
eat breakfast. Our first breakfast was an opportunity to get to know the other
students better. I felt at ease with the girls and it looked as though we would
all be getting on well.
Santhi and his staff Kanaka Raghavan ate breakfast with us at the same table
always. In fact, every meal, we ate always together.
After breakfast, Santhi started his teachings.
We sat, listened, picked up our
pens, and took notes. Santhi spoke clearly and distinctly. We understood that
yoga was not just a practice of perfecting asana's but a whole way of living,
a deep and intense self study into the mind, body and spirit.
On the first day,
one of the girls had a breakdown and started crying. Santhi explained that
there might be tears within this month. That certain things we learn would trigger
emotional response.
We then took a brake for lunch and once again, we were offered amazing vegetarian
cuisine. In fact, in the whole month almost every day there was a new dish.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner
was always a new feast.
After lunch, we would sit for more teachings and then
at 5pm we would start Asana's until 8.30 and then dinner and bed. In total the
Yoga asana's lasted for about five hours a day.
At first I thought the were
very basic but as time moved on we went into much more difficult and intense
asana's. Every day we built on top of what we did the day before. Santhi was
very patient with us.
We had the opportunity to be ourselves and if we had problems,
we could express them. If Santhi saw the asana needed correcting, he would correct
us into the posture.
We learned over 60 asana's within the month, where as most yoga schools teach
only about 16 asana's. We had to learn the Sanskrit names of each asana which
was challenging.
Our 30 days went on as did as the first day, a mix between asana's and teachings.
By the second day I realised that I was in the presence of a Spiritual Master
and I could not believe how lucky I was to have an intense month with a small
group with such a person.
We covered so much in the month. Kundalini Yoga was the most interesting aspect
for me. Santhi would spend one day going through each chakra. This is different
however from the 'Kundalini Yoga' that I was expecting to learn. I thought that
it might be the same yoga as what was taught by 'Yogi Bhajan' in America but
it was very different.
However saying that I have never done Kundalini yoga with a Yogi Bhajan teacher
as a teacher training. Although I have done many 'Kundalini Yoga' classes.
In
Santhi's kundalini yoga classes we would go in depth into each chakra and learn
its elements, its aspects, its healing properties etc. We are learning with Santhi,
Kundalini yoga from it's most ancient source. The information that was given
to Santhi was given through a lineage of Masters and we are learning a very
pure form of Kundalini.
We also learned Sanghya yoga and the three guna's. Ashtanga yoga - the eight
steps of Pantanjali, Tantric yoga, Bhakti yoga, Karma Yoga, Jnana yoga, Raja
Yoga, Pranayama breathing techniques, Kriyas, Samskaras, Samadhi,
Mantra's. The list can go on and on.
Santhi also provided us with an anatomy and physiology university professor to
teach us the body. He also included a priest to properly teach us mantra's.
Santhi was available to ask any questions at any times.
This yoga course I understood
was more a course on personal spiritual discovery more than anything else. Of
course saying that, please don't misunderstand me. It is an excellent certified
yoga course.
As I learned all the processes, I learned so much about myself. Sometimes Santhi
would speak and he would use stories that reflected exactly my own life stories.
This happened not only with me but with the others in the group as well. We
were deeply touched by his words.
Many times, there was tears and many times
laughter. We all transformed after the course. We all even looked different.
Lighter! As if some weight has been taken away from our lives. There was a glow
in our eyes. We just slowly, slowly in the course peeled off a lot of layers,
that were holding us back.
As we experienced the teachings within our own selves.
We become teachers who experienced information for themselves! In turn we understood
more on how to teach, because no teaching is appropriately taught if the teacher
has not yet experienced what she / he is teaching. This is most important in
teaching yoga. We all improved our asana's greatly. By the end of the month, I was doing postures
that I was unable to do in the first week.
The last day was examination time.
The exams were not easy. We however all passed! Phew! And received our certificates
that night.
The course was ended by a celebration in transformation,
which I shall not say anything about except that I am a new person after that
night and the 30 day course.
This course was the best thing I have ever done in my life.
I bow down to Santhi
and to all those who have been before him.
My
meeting with Swami Santhiprasad was a change for the rest
of my life. I had never before met an experienced Spiritual Yoga
Master. Santhi is filled with so much love and knowledge and he
share it so unpretentious, always so loving and caring towards
all of his students.
With Swami Santhiprasad you can go deeper into yourself. You
are always in safe hands when you are around Santhi and his
team. He is a man who can speak to a group of people and at the
same time make you feel that he is only speaking to you. It is
the same every time. It is so easy to understand him and follow
his instructions. He brings out the very best in you.
School of Santhi is a small Yoga School in Trivandrum, Kerala, South
India. For me it is amazing that there still are schools around where the Swami is the
main teacher. It is very
rare to find schools like this today who teaches in small groups
in the traditional way and pass on the yogic tradition from
Master to student.
For me, Swami Santhiprasad will always will be my Spiritual Yoga Master, the
great yoga teacher and guiding star. I am very grateful it was meant
for me to meet Santhi. If
you are sincere in learning Yoga and are searching for an honest
and respectful Spiritual Yoga Master, don´t hesitate to contact
School of Santhi Yoga School in India. To spend some time or attend a course with
Santhi is a great experience. Don't miss the experience!
thanks for sharing so much
