The treatise
of yoga comes to you only in
the precious present, where in the reality
unravels! We have been learning many things and finally here we are
now to unlearn; to say goodbye to the mind!
Yoga Sutra 28:
Tajjapah tadardhabhavanam
Repetition of that ( AUM ) with ideation of its meaning realizes its full significance.
For the one who has understood the word that represents the God and the God in that word, its meaning and significance, the prime most practice for him is nothing other than the sincere and devotional repetition of that sacred syllable.
By sincere repetition of Pranavam, its meaning and significance will be understood. He then moves towards reaffirming and affixing God in him who is represented by the Sacred syllable AUM. Then identifying him with that source principle underlying in it.
This is called "tadardhabhavanam"
Devotional repeated recitation of AUM with focus on its meaning will elevate a Sadhaka to reach the highest state of Yoga called Samadhi.
This mantra AUM is considered as the Sabda Brahmah, which means the sound of supreme consciousness.
Yoga is the union of the individuated conscious with the supreme consciousness, which is Brahman and that is met by the japa of the sacred mantra AUM. |
